Pastor Jonathan Sargent has served Lick Fork Pentecostal Church faithfully since 2013, first as Assistant Pastor and since 2018 as Lead Pastor. His calling is clear: to preach the full Gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Ghost and to see lives radically transformed by the Spirit of God.
He is married to his wife, Jonda Sargent, since 1999 and together they serve the Lord with a shared burden for revival, discipleship, and missions. They are blessed with one daughter, Jacey Kelsey, who along with her husband, Noah, serve in the church.
Pastor Jonathan is unapologetically Pentecostal. He believes in salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ, sanctification through the Word of God, and the baptism in the Holy Ghost with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues. He believes the gifts of the Spirit are for today, that divine healing is still available, and that the Church must walk in holiness, power, and boldness in this generation.
He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Church History, a Doctorate in Theology, and a PhD in Biblical Studies. He is currently pursuing a degree in Christian Ministry at Pentecostal Theological Seminary, further strengthening his commitment to biblical scholarship and Spirit-filled ministry. His academic work fuels his passion to defend classical Pentecostal doctrine with both Scripture and church history.
Pastor Jonathan is the author of seven books centered on revival, sanctification, Pentecostal theology, and biblical faithfulness. His preaching is marked by strong biblical exposition, a call to repentance, and a hunger for genuine moves of God—not emotionalism, but true Holy Ghost power.
He also helped found the Arise Addiction Recovery Program, a Christ-centered ministry focused on deliverance, restoration, and discipleship for those battling addiction. In addition, he co-founded the Global Harvest Coalition, a missions initiative committed to rescuing the perishing and advancing the Gospel around the world.
Pastor Jonathan believes the Church must return to the altar, the Word, and the power of Pentecost. His prayer is that every believer at Lick Fork would be filled with the Spirit, grounded in Scripture, and actively engaged in reaching the lost.
